Dandruff

Dandruff is the common problem experienced by most of the people and spoils the beauty. It affects the scalp as well as the small hair follicle. It sticks on the skin of the scalp, weakens the roots and makes the hair to fall.
How it is caused?
1. If the scalp is not cleansed properly, the dead cells would build up into larger and becomes noticeable flakes.
2. It begins by in taking the poor nutrition and an unbalanced diet.
3. Food allergies, dust and excessive perspiration would trigger the dandruff.
4. Overactive oil glands, stress and hard shampoo are also cause the dandruff.
5. Seasons of the year like cold, hot summer and dry winter can contribute dandruff problem.

Natural remedies: (Home remedies for dandruff)
1. Massage the scalp with almond paste and olive oil for 5–10 minutes. Leave it for 30 minutes and wash it off.
2. A hot steam head bath can used to cure the dandruff.
3. Mix the juice of ginger and beetroot. Apply it on scalp before hair wash. Hair care tips
4. Dry the lemon peels in hot sun for 10 days and immersed it in warm coconut oil or coconut milk. Apply this on the scalp to get rid of the dandruff. Or rinse the hair with fresh lime juice.
5. After shampoo hair washing, rinse it with apple cider vinegar to clear the flaky scalp. Mix apples cider vinegar with water and use it for rinse.
6. Allow a sufficient exposure of sun to the scalp to remove the dandruff.

 
 






7. Soak fenugreek seeds in water for overnight. Grind it, make a paste and apply it on the scalp. Rinse it off with shikakai after 30 minutes.
8. Massage the scalp with warm olive oil or sesame oil. Wrap a towel or soft cloth on the head for few minutes to treat the dandruff.
9. Do not pour shampoo directly on the scalp. It would be better if it is mixed with water and then use it for hair wash. This would help to prevent the flaking.
10. Wash the hair with green gram powder once in a while to prevent the dandruff.
11. If the itchy scalp is scratched, it would make to feel better for that moment, but it would injure the scalp and finally makes the dandruff worse.
12. Eat zinc rich foods like milk, egg, red or brown rice, chicken, oysters, red meat, nuts etc to prevent the flaking of scalp. Avoid greasy & spicy food stuffs and cut down alcohol & caffeine.

Get rid of pimples

What are the causes for pimples?
1. Stress or depression can cause the pimples on the face.
2. Weather changes, heat, pollution and humidity are also some of the reasons causing the pimples.
3. Excessive sweating tends to block oil glands and pores and thus giving the face with pimples.
4. Eating oily, spicy and processed foods may leads to pimples.
5. Pimples are formed if the dead skin cells are not properly eliminated from the face.

Home remedies for pimples:
1. Take small amount of pure sandal powder, a pinch of turmeric powder, few drops of rose water and five drops of lemon juice. Make it a paste, apply it on the face and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash it off with cold water and repeat it twice a week. 
2. Boil Neem leaves over a low flame. Cool and strain the liquid. Make a paste with the leaves and apply it daily on the face. Wash after 30 minutes with cold water.
3. Take few drops of lemon juice add few drops of honey & cinnamon powder, make it a paste. Apply this mixture only on the pimples daily, leave it and wash it off after an hour.
4. Make a paste with rose water, lemon juice and multhani-metti. Apply the paste on the face, when it dries wash it off and repeat this twice in a week.
5. Wash your face with a medicated soap daily then wipe it with an astringent lotion using cotton wool and get rid of the pimples.
6. Take some curd and add a pinch of turmeric to it and apply this mix on the face. Wash it off with like warm water after 30 minutes.



   


7. Grind nutmeg with milk and apply it on the pimples to get rid of it without any marks.
8. Take fresh fenugreek leaves, grind it and make a paste. Apply it on the pimple affected area to eliminate it.
9. Pulp of tomato, papaya and fresh garlic can also be applied on the pimple to take away from the face without scars.
10. Avoid creams and moisturizers on the pimples and drink enough purified water daily.
11. Eat fruits, salads, sprouts and yoghurt daily and start your day with warm water mix with few drops of lemon to have clear skin without pimples.
12. Inadequate sleep invites the pimples to occur on the face. The skin would renovate itself while sleeping, so sleep at least 8 hours daily.

Lip Tips (Home tips for lips)

Lips are the beautiful part in the face. Simple home tips are listed to take care of it.
1. Apply pure almond oil daily to your lips at night before sleep and leave it overnight.
2. After face wash, when your lips are still wet, rub them gently with a soft towel to remove the dead cells.
3. A mixture of lemon juice and cream of milk can be applied to the lips. Leave it for an hour and washed it off with cold water.
4. Use ghee or Vaseline while going out in the sun to increase the amount of pigment in your lips.
5. For dark lips apply a mixture of lime juice, honey and glycerin.
6. Apply almond oil or almond milk on the lips for at least 1 hour to prevent it from cracks.
7. Do not drink too much coffee or tea and do not smoke. Both will lead to dark lips.
8. Apply beet root or pomegranate juice to get rid of from dark lips.
9. Don’t keep your lips dry, always moisturize it. (Honey is a good moisturizer).
10. Too much usage of lips sticks and lip products can contribute to lip darkening and make the lips worst.







11. Do not lick your lips when it is dry. The moisture in them would evaporate and ends up in chewing the flaky skin and finally leads the lips to bleed.
12. Massage your lips with a mixture of turmeric powder and milk daily for few minutes. This result the lips to appear pink.
13. Mix honey, yogurt, lime juice and gram flour and make a paste. Apply it to get red lips.
14. Deficiency of iron, vitamins, essential oils and dehydration makes the lips to be chapped easily. Drink enough water and eat a well balanced diet.

Anti-Aging Foods

It is a beauty blog contains simple home tips for beauty; but I want to tell about the foods to prevent aging. Because everyone knows that the health and beauty are directly related. By in taking a well balanced diet daily, you will get definitely a good glowing and healthy skin. In my previous post, I listed some home tips to prevent and to get rid of aging skin. Now I am including particular foods to avoid it. The polluted environment, toxins, free radicals and chemicals accelerates aging processes. Our body usually produces some anti-oxidants to counter free radicals. But more is needed from the food we eat. Many researchers found that there is a strong link between free radicals and aging.

What are free radicals?
Free radicals are nothing but the highly reactive components of oxygen metabolized by our cells. Due to excess free radicals the aging skin may occur. To fight against these, enough anti-oxidants are needed. Let’s see some anti-oxidant rich foods,
* Fruits like red grapes, mango, guava, strawberry, papaya, peach, berries and all citrus fruits.
* Vegetables like onions, tomatoes, garlic, carrot, spinach, cabbage and broccoli.
* Vitamin-E rich foods like almonds, walnuts, egg, oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat bread, and olive & sesame oil.
* Other anti-oxidant foods are green tea, wine, butter, milk, yoghurt, turmeric etc.






Eat healthy foods, get natural glow and so you can easily prevent the skin from aging. Many anti-oxidant supplements and anti-aging creams are available in the market to avoid aging, but ages under 30’s please don’t try to use the above products. Along with the healthy food, it is enough to use a good homemade face wash, sun block and a mild moisturizer daily to take care of the skin.

Home tips to prevent aging (anti-aging tips)

All desires to be look younger always. Some simple tips should be followed regularly to look young and to prevent aging appearance. If you are ready to spend few minutes daily to take care of your skin, definitely you will get a glowing and awesome beauty. 

1. The best anti-aging tips for all is to sleep 8 hours daily. If not, the cells in your body recover and get repaired. This will result in stress and finally leads to the signs of aging.

2. Daily you should cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin. Use Aloe-Vera gel or moisturizing creams containing cocoa butter to reduce wrinkles. Apply honey on the face then rinse with warm water after 20 minutes.

Simple foot care tips at home

Some simple foot care tips are listed for my visitors. While speaking about beauty, it is vital to include the caring of feet also. It is necessary to take care of it both during summer and winter. As it carries the whole weight of the body, regular pampering is required to avoid blisters and other fungal infections. Simple tips to follow at home are,
 1. Always keep your feet clean. Wash it regularly to remove the dirt.
2. Apply a layer of sunscreen lotion on the feet, while stepping out.
3. Try to use covered shoes or cut shoes to prevent it from tanning.
4. Apply moisturizer cream on the feet at day time and apply olive oil during bed time.
5. Exfoliate regularly. How? Apply foot scrub (homemade contains salt, sugar and oatmeal) to remove the dead skin at least twice a month.

Home tips for cracked heels:
 Many of us are ignoring to take care of the feet. It leads to cracked heels which finally results in ugly-looking, unhealthy and itchy feet as shown in the picture. Here are some good remedies to cure it.










1. Give daily massage to the feet with a good moisturizing lotion to remove dryness of the skin.
2. Melt some paraffin wax; add little coconut oil to it. Apply this on the cracked heels before going to sleep at night. Wash it off with lukewarm water in next morning.
3. Soak the cracked feet in hot water with salt for 20-30 minutes. This will definitely improve the circulation of blood. Finally wash the feet with cold water.
4. As the skin is more prone to cuts and cracks, it is very important to drink more water to keep the skin hydrated. How to get better skin?
5. Mix honey and little olive oil with water. Soak the feet in it to heal the cracks.
6. Add little liquid bathing soap to the hot water; soak your feet in it. This will loosen the dead skin on the heels. Rub your feet gently with soft scrubber then apply moisturizer cream on it.
  A good foot massage can have a direct bearing on your state of mind. It also makes you to feel relaxed and relieves pain. To keep you rejuvenated and fresh do foot massage.  Use face pack (home made) once a week to cleanse your skin. Let‘s see its benefits:

1.    It deep purifies the skin by penetrating into the pores to remove impurities, dead skin cells and excess oils.
2.    It will keep the skin hydrated by restoring its water content, which results in soft and supple skin.
3.    It also brightens the skin by lightening spots, blemishes and pigmentation.

How to choose the face packs suitable for the skin?
Face pack for dry skin:
 Because of insufficient sebum production in skin, causes it to flake and look dull. Also the dry skin feels tight and rough, particularly after cleansing. To remove the dryness and dullness, choose the face pack with cucumber, apple or papaya. It will lighten the blemishes and give bright look.

Face pack for oil skin:
 Because of excessive sebum production, it causes to look the skin a greasy shine and leads to breakouts. Blackheads and whiteheads are dominant here. Use multhani metti, egg white, tomato or potato as face pack. It will absorb the excessive oils and remove the deep impurities.

Face pack for normal skin:
 Normal skin needs the basic skin care management. Choose the face pack with Aloe-Vera or saffron. Fruits like banana, plum or peach and oatmeal paste can be used as face pack. It will help to hydrate the skin and improves skin tone.

Face pack for the skin with pimples:
 This type of skin needs some special care to stop its frustration. So choose the face pack with neem or turmeric. Neem has anti- bacterial properties and turmeric has anti-septic properties and so both fights against acne and pimples. It will also remove blemishes on the skin and gives good appearance.

Try to choose the face pack which is suitable for your skin. The above mentioned ingredients are usually seen at home. Prepare it like a paste by mashing or grinding a single item alone and apply it on the face skin. Wash it off with lukewarm water after 15 – 20 minutes and finally apply an ice pack to close the pores. Regular face wash and daily bathing will cleanse the outer layer of the skin. Use face packs to clean deeply your skin further.

Simple Hair Care Tips

Everyone wants to have a beautiful and healthy hair, as it plays a vital role in beauty. Some tips are listed, please choose and follow the suitable tip for your hair.
Slightly heat the olive oil and massage it into your hair with your finger tips and then take head bath. It will stimulate the hair follicles and propagates hair growth. Also it finally results in fine and soft hair.

Gentle shampoo should be used to wash the hair. Avoid chemical based shampoos and wash the hair with luck warm water.

Beat the egg white alone (remove yolk) and add a cup of yogurt into it. Apply it to the hair and scalp, wash out with baby shampoo after 30 minutes to get smooth hair.

Soak fenugreek seeds overnight in water, grind it and make a paste. Apply it on the hair and leave it for 30 minutes. Then wash it with mild shampoo or shikakai to remove dandruff.

A mixture of honey and milk can be applied on the hair for 30 minutes before head bath to get sleek hair.

Want to get rid of dandruff? Mix a small quantity of beat-root juice, ginger juice and vinegar. Apply this mixture on the scalp and take head bath after 20 minutes.











• Having scalp burns? Use Alo-vera based products for the hair to wash. It will heal ti and also reduce the itchiness.

Want to stop hair fall? Gently massage the almond oil on the scalp twice daily. Also stop the in-take of alcohol and caffeine.

Excessive use of hair colours may leads to hair loss. Try to lessen it and apply amla oil on the scalp daily to prevent the hair from falling.

Include more leafy vegetables, eggs and dates into your regular food, if you are suffered with hair fall. Also consume nutritious and iron rich diet.

Stress plays a major role in hair fall. So be relaxed. Also inadequate sleep at night will definitely cause the hair to fall.

The yogic practice of Pranayam increases the efficiency of the oxygen consumption thereby improving blood supply to the scalp.

Shampooing too frequently may reduce surface sebum and worsen the hair loss.

Brush and comb your hair as gently as possible without tugging on tangles. Using a good conditioner after shampooing to let you comb the hair more easily.

If you are using hair dyer after head bath, set it on a lower temperature because applying excessive heat on the hair roots may leads it to weak.

Simple home beauty tips for summer

Over exposure of the sunlight on the skin causes sunburn. Some home remedies:
                                      
 1.  Apply a small quantity of watermelon juice on the face, neck and sun exposed areas to hydrate the skin in summer. It will also prevent the skin from sunburns and will pacify the skin.
2.  Either mustard oil or olive oil can be applied on the sunburn to get relief from itching.
3.  You can also apply tender coconut on the skin to cool down it. It will also prevent and cure allergic rashes during summer.
4.  Aloevera is a perfect sunburn soother. Apply a thin coating of aloevera gel on the skin to remove the dryness.
5.  Did you want to get rid of the sunburn immediately? Give a butter-milk coating on the damaged skin at least twice on it.








6.  Simple tip for sunburn- Wash the sun burnt area with cold water. It will reduce the skin swelling.
7.  Boil pure water and add rose petals in it. Cool it and apply it on the skin to get rid of from bumpiness.
8.  Crush or grind some mint leaves, apply the juice to remove the tanned skin. Wash it off with cold water after 10 minutes.
9.  Grind some cucumber pieces and apply it on the sun burnt area of the skin to eliminate the irritation, as it has cool compounds.
10.  Include enough quantity of curd or yoghurt in your meals to prevent the skin from dryness and to get attractive soft skin.

Tomato tips for skin

• Take few tablespoons of tomato juice and add few drops of lime juice. Massage this mixture on the face and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Then wash it off with cool water. This treatment will shrink the big pores and prevents the skin from infection.
• To get a good glowing skin, mix fresh tomato juice with few drops of honey. Gently apply this mixture on the sun exposed areas such as face, neck, etc. Wash it off with cold water after few minutes. Do it twice in a week to get smooth skin.

• For oily skin, mix equal ratios of tomato and cucumber juice. Apply this and leave it for 20 minutes. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. This will prevent the skin from additional oiliness.
• Being rich in vitamins, tomatoes are used to cure acnes on the skin. Cut a tomato and rub it on the skin to get rid off from acnes and to get great glow.
• Take few tablespoons of fresh tomato juice and mix it with a small quantity of yogurt. Apply this mixture on the skin to prevent and to cure the burns.

Home tips to remove the dark circle under the eyes

Follow any one of the home tip regularly to take out the dark circle under your eyes.
1. Grind 5 or 6 almonds with fresh milk and make it as a paste. Apply it on the dark circle and wash it off after 20 minutes.
2. Grind 1 tomato with few drops of lemon juice. Apply this pulpy mixture on the dark area, leave it and wash after 15 minutes with cold water.
3. Grind fresh cucumber nicely, and then add few drops of honey. Make it as a paste and put on the affected dark area. Wash with cold water after 15 minutes.
                    
4. Grind raw potato with few drops of milk. Apply this mixture on the dark circle with a piece of cotton. Wait for 15 minutes and wash it with lukewarm water.
5. Lacks of sleep, iron deficiency, dehydration are some of the reasons which lead to the formation of dark circles. So drink plenty of water, intake dietary food and sleep for at least 7- 8 hours to prevent the dark circle under your eyes.

Tips to prevent bad body odour

• Apply small amount of vinegar on the underarms with a piece of cotton.
• Remove the hair from the underarms, so as to prevent the sweat rings.
• After bathing practice using deodorant containing aluminium chloride.
• Wear cotton clothes to absorb the sweat and change it daily.
• Wash the clothes with good detergent and dry those in the sun.
• Drink water at regular intervals to dilute the sweat.
• Avoid spicy and processed foods, always eat low fat foods and fruits.
• Take bath daily in lukewarm water with anti bacterial soap.

You can prepare a home based deodorant by mixing the following:
Melt half ounce of each coco butter and beeswax.
1 tablespoon of each rose water and glycerin.
Alovera juice can also be mixed with above.
 Keep any deodorant in refrigerator to increase its life and also to refresh you while applying in summer season.

2. Stress will have negative effect on the skin. Do yoga or meditation to avoid stress.
3. Environmental pollution can damage the skin. So be covered while going such places.
4. Apply good sunscreen lotions while going out during day time.
5. Avoid coffee and alcohol to get good moisturizing skin.



6. Sleep at least 7-8 hours a day, because lack of sleep associated with ageing problems.
7. Avoid eating more sugar based foods, it can result in wrinkles.
8. Give proper cleansing to the skin, if not it will lead to bacteria build up and break outs of the skin.
9. Don’t talk bath in hot water (very hot), it will lead to redness and damage the skin.

Essential home beauty tips

* Apply a paste of honey and avocado (butter fruit) and wash the face with cold water after 15 minutes.

* For dry skin, apply a mixture of mashed banana, yogurt and few drops of honey.

* To avoid the skin from getting flaky, apply the moisturizer mixed with sunscreen.


* Apply pure sandal powder with jasmine juice on the face to remove the dullness due to sun.

* Put some jasmine flowers in hot water for some time. After it gets cooled, wash the face with it to remove the dead cells.

Simple remedies for blackheads:

* A good home remedy to stop the blackheads is to apply a paste of cinnamon and lemon juice.

* Prepare a mixture with cucumber and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Apply this mixture on the face to get smooth skin and also to prevent the blackheads.

 * Pulp pf grapes can also be applied to remove the blackheads. Wash the face with warm water after 20 minutes.

* To prevent blackheads, apply a face mask with egg white and 1 tablespoon of honey.

* Make a paste with dry jasmine flowers, 4-5 cloves and ½ tablespoon of pure sandal powder. Apply this as a face pack to remove the blackheads and black spots.
