Essential oils and its beauty benefits

This is the continuation of my previous post. Here the beauty benefits of rosewood oil and bergamot oil are discussed. It is recommended that the essential oil should not be taken internally and it should be used in diluted form.

Rosewood oil:
It is natural oil extracted from rosewood. As it contains anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, it has both medicinal and beauty benefits. It boosts the immune system and it cures the fever, cold, nausea and headaches. It regenerates the skin and it is suitable for dry & oily skin. It can used regularly to combat the premature aging. Also it helps to make the skin smooth and excellent in removing the scars, stretch marks and fine lines.










Beauty tips with Rosewood oil:
1. Mix it with almond oil or jojoba oil and massage the face and body with it to remove the toxins from the skin.
2. Mix it with safflower oil and apply it on the skin after bath to get blemish free and flawless skin.
3. Just mix 20 drops of rosewood oil with your regular skin lotion to get clean, soft, bright and smooth skin. Use it regularly to get better result.
4. Apply rosewood oil to the face to clear unnecessary sebum and to cure acne breakouts. This tip is not suitable for sensitive skin type.
5. Add few drops of it to mild shampoo and shake it well. Use this to wash the hair, so that the fragrance remains even after the hair wash.

Bergamot oil:
This is fresh and rich aroma oil named after the Italian city, Bergamo. It has excellent uplifting and stimulating fragrance. It contains anti-depressant properties and so it is excellent in relieving mental tension. Moreover it has anti-biotic & disinfectant properties which help to treat the problems related to stomach, kidney and liver. It is recommended not to use this essential oil while stepping out in the sun.










Beauty tips with Bergamot oil:
1. Mix it with the aloe-Vera gel into ratio 1:5 and use this mixture to treat the acne on the skin.
2. Add 5 drops of it to the warm water and take bath with it to get the soothing and blemish free skin.
3. Apply this oil on the hair to get a clean and infection free scalp. It can be added to the shampoo to wash the hair to get shiny and dense hair.
4. Apply this on the feet to treat the cracked heels. It can also be used to cure the psoriasis and eczema.
5. Steam the face with few drops of Bergamot oil to fight acne. This would also prevent the aging of skin.

Essential oils play a vital role in beauty and skin care regimen. Some essential oils and its related simple beauty & skin care tips are discussed here to get natural glow at home. Before that it would be good to know how to use the pure essential oils.



1. First do a patch test to avoid negative reactions.
2. If you felt any irritation or got rashes stop using it and wash it off.
3. All the essential oils are recommended to use in a dilute form or it should be combined with carrier oils like aloe-vera, avocado, walnut, jojoba etc.
4. Pregnant women are not recommended to use these oils as it is has strong fragrance and they may get nausea.
5. It should be stored in dark glass or cobalt bottles to avoid deterioration and to protect its aromatic properties.

Lavender oil:
It is an essential oil which can be applied directly to the skin. It contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and it can be used as a cleanser. It has calming effects and perfectly soothes the skin. Few drops of it can be used as a moisturizer to treat the dry skin. Burns, eczema and acne problems can be cured by using this essential oil as it has anti-inflammatory properties.

 






Beauty tips with lavender oil:
1. Add 5 drops of lavender oil to a cup of milk. Mix it with the bathing water, take bath with it. It can remove the suntan and provide relaxation to the skin.
2. Add few drops of lavender oil to the pure distilled water and steam with it. By doing this, the acne and blemishes on the face can be removed.
3. Mix few drops of lavender oil to a tsp of jojoba oil. Add this mixture to the bathing water. Take bath with it to cure the sunburn.
4. It is good to stop the hair fall. Just massage it on the scalp to refresh the hair growth and to kill lice.

Tea-tree oil:
This essential oil contains anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties come from the Australian coastal area trees. It also has anti-septic properties and can be used a mouth wash which results in healthy gums. It is very good to treat the oily and acne prone skin. It is toxic and it has mild estrogenic properties. So it is not advisable to swallow while in use.










Beauty tips with tre tree oil:
1. Add few drops (3-4 drops) of tea tree oil to yoghurt and apply it on the oily skin to treat it.
2. Combine it with cold cream and use it to cure chapped lips.
3. It is a natural remedy for nail fungus infection.
4. Add few drops to the regular shampoo and wash the hair with it. It keeps the hair healthy and scalp hydrated. It can repair the damaged or dry hair and removes dandruff.

Simple skin care tips for dry skin in winter

People with dry skins are needed to take care of their skin during winter. The dry skin would worsen more due to the chill climate. If the dryness in the skin continues, it would lead to wrinkles and fine lines. So it is vital to follow the best skin care routine to combat the dryness. Simple skin care tips for dry skin during winter are discussed below.


Wash the skin at least twice a day to remove the dirt from it and use an oil based moisturizer for dry skin to get soft and healthy skin.
Apply a good sunscreen lotion and moisturizer to the skin before stepping out.
Do not use hard soaps and avoid hot water baths. Use cleansing lotion after bath to protect the natural oils in the skin.
Massage the skin with olive oil in upward movements. Then apply a collagen cream to the skin regularly. Follow this at least once in a week.

Simple Hair Care Tips For Rainy and Winter Season

During rainy and winter season, the hair may turn frizzy with greasy scalp and would finally result in hair fall. Due to excessive amount of moisture in the air during these seasons would make the hair lifeless and tangled. So it is essential to follow the hair care regimen in monsoon. Simple hair beauty tips in rainy and winter season to take care of hair:


1. Wash the hair frequently or at least twice in a week to remove the dirt and impurities.
2. Slightly heat the coconut oil. Apply this to the hair and scalp to locks in the moisturizer and to improve the blood circulation for head. (don’t do this daily)
3. After hair wash, it would be better to wear a hydration mask which results in soft and smooth hair.
4. Always try to use a mild shampoo that adopted to the scalp condition.

* Hair with dandruff can be treated by deeply massaging the scalp with a mixture of coconut oil and lemon juice, then rinse it off with lukewarm water after few minutes.

* To treat baldness, apply emu oil, jojoba oil or arnica to the affected area, as it would promotes the hair growth and improves the blood circulation.

Everyone thinks that the skin and beauty care regime should be followed only during summer. Many of us do not know that it is essential to change and do the skin care routine in rainy seasons also. The damp and humid whether in this season would make the skin to damage. So even the temperature is cool, it makes the skin greasy, flaky and invites acne due to rain. •    Grind cucumber along with yoghurt and apply it on the face and neck. Wash it off with lukewarm water after 15-20 minutes. (This may cause headache. Try it once. If it is suitable, continue it twice in a week to get better result).
•    Get the Neem leaves, dry it and make powder with it. Take a tablespoon of this powder and mix it with rose water. Apply this paste on the required skin areas and wash it off after 10-15 minutes.

For Combination Skin:
Combination skin is nothing but a combination of both dry and oily. Use a gentle moisturizer and non-soap cleanser for this skin type.  We all know that the skin is the biggest organ and it is essential to maintain the suitable skin care routine daily. If not it would lead to acne, rashes, pimples, wrinkles etc. Then the skin may susceptible to infections and diseases. Some simple and useful skin care tips with beauty are as follows: 

To remove dark circles under the eyes:
    Take few drops of almond oil and massage around the eyes with it daily for 2 minutes. Then use moist cotton, wipe it off after 15 minutes.
    Mix the equal quantities of potato and cucumber juice and apply it under the eyes. Wash it off after 20 minutes with lukewarm water. Also have a good 8 hours sleep at night.

To remove pimples on forehead:
    Dandruff may be the reason for the appearance of pimple on forehead. Just wash the face twice a day with mild soap and wipe the forehead with an astringent lotion.
    Take few drops of lemon and honey and mix cinnamon powder with it. Apply this paste on the forehead and wash it off after 30 minutes with lukewarm water. It would be better, if creams and moisturizer are avoided.

To remove the stretch marks on arms and stomach:
When the elasticity of the skin is destroyed, stretch marks may form on the arms, stomach etc and it cannot be totally removed.
    Take a small quantity of olive oil and massage the arms with it.
    Take a little quantity of curd, a pinch of turmeric and 2tsp of gram flour. Mix altogether and make a paste with it. Apply this on the required areas, leave it for 30 minutes and wash it off. Do this twice in a week to get better result.

To improve the health of the skin:
Wine facial and mask would improve the health of the skin as the wine is rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins and trace elements. Also it can rejuvenate the skin and speeds up the cell renewal process.
    Mix small quantity of yoghurt and honey with 2-3tsps of red wine. Apply this mixture on the face and wash it off after 30 minutes.

Simple Home Packs For Skin After Summer

1. Pack for Sunburn:
Soak almonds overnight, grind it and make into a paste. Mix 3tsp of curd and some water melon juice into it. Mix it well and apply it on the face. This pack would help to remove the Sun tan and also brightens the skin.
2. Pack to refresh the Eyes:
Mix equal quantity of cucumber juice and water melon juice. Close the eyes and apply this mixture around the eyes to cool the skin around it. Coconut water can also be used instead of cucumber juice to protect the eyes from burning of watery.

How To Deal With Freckles? (Simple home remedies to clear the freckles)

 Spots of concentrated melanin that develops on the skin due to the expose of sunlight are called freckles. Here are few home remedies to lighten and to remove the freckles naturally.

1. Grind raw garlic and make a paste with it. Apply it on the freckles to get rid of it.
2. To lighten the freckles, apply few drops of tea tree oil on it and massage for 10 minutes.
3. Flax seeds are excellent in removing the freckles. Just powder the flax seeds and add honey to it. Apply this paste on the freckles to remove them.
4. Take the peels of pomegranate and allow it to dry. Then grind it and make powder with it. Add milk & lemon juice to this powder and apply this regularly on the freckles to clean off.
5. Apply diluted apple cider vinegar daily on the freckles to take out from the skin quickly.







6. Dandelion roots contain milk like substance. Take it and massage it on the affected areas to lighten the freckles.
7. Take the juice from onion and apply it on the freckles to remove them from the skin.
8. Prepare a paste with cumin seeds powder and pure water (or) rosewater. Apply this mixture on the freckles and allow it to dry. Then wash it off with cold water and repeat this for several weeks to clear the freckles
